two sources for paper

What I want to talk about in my paper is how this country is full of nothing but advertisements everywhere you go. And it isn't only for the purpose of selling the products, but for the purpose of building corporate reputations. And it has been since the 1920's that American advertising has grown massivley and the demand for new products continues to increase. But why is it that literally every direction you look in, someone has something being advertised? If someones shirt says Abercrombie and Fitch, then they are therefore advertising for that company without even realizing it. Advertising exists everywhere but is it really that important? One source I will use can be checked out at this website. http://historymatters.gmu.edu/mse/Ads/amadv.html. It gives a brief history of how advertisment has developed over the years.

Another concern of mine when it comes to advertising is why it is necessary for such ridiculous ads and campaigns. Isn't it possible to just get the word out for your product without going through all these obsurd campaigns and wasting millions of dollars? It is as if these companies and corporations are batteling one another to put themselves on top. Like generic goods don't recieve as much recognition as brand name products. And because it is brand name the consumer right away thinks that it is better. But is it truly? But nutritionally speaking, there is no difference. Here is another source i will use. http://frugalliving.about.com/cs/buyingfood/a/090903.htm
