2 sources for paper

I have decided that I want to do my paper on poverty. I know its kind of a broad topic but it will be interesting i promise...anyways, I have found some great books in the library to help me back up my paper. I want to go into absolut vs. relative poverty, the categories of people who are most at risk for poverty, and peoples views. Thats when it will get intersting because when we had the class discussion people had opposing viewpoints on if people in poverty can better themselves or they choose not to and that how they end up that way.
I found a book called Persistant Poverty: The American Dream Turned Nightmare by Richard H. Ropers. I thought this title was really catchy but the information and the things it has inside have provoked so much thought from myself. So hopefully it will help with the conversation in my paper. It explains who makes up the poor and the feminization of poverty. It evens talks about the homeless and welfare programs (mainly if they are helping to encourage poverty or not) . Also how should be blamed in society for the increasing problem of poverty.
There is another book I found that is called Reducing Poverty in America. It is mainly a collection of works by various writers. In this book they each give their own perspective on ways to rid America on poverty. I liked some of the writings that gave strategies to decrease welfare by increasing work. The viewpoints were really interesting which made me think of things differently.
