This is a picture taken by a brilliant photographer by the name of Mike Wilkinson. This picture was taken on a subway of random people. I chose this picture because as soon as you look at it, there is so much symbolism behind it all. Here you have your average white collar business man, probably coming home from a day at the office, sitting next to an African-American woman who doesn't appear to be a business woman. If you look at each of their faces, you can sense so much prejudice between the two. First off, they are both looking the other way, and if you look at the man's face, it's almost as if he is raising his chin (symbolizing that he thinks he is better than her). The woman is just looking the other way thinking "this guy is so typical, he has no idea about life." haha...If you look at their body positions too, you can tell that the man is sort of sitting crooked in his chair, so that he is not directly next to the woman. It's kind of sad that is how the world works. Two totally different people should be able to sit next to eachother on the subway and be able to look at eachother...smile, and understand that they're both from different backgrounds but have similarities in some way.
I like Mike Wilkinson's style of photography. He has a whole set of pictures from subway's that represent different emotions of humans.

you are completely right Logan, racism and begotry, really anytype of ethnocentrism or whatever, is just down right wrong. I hate to bring religion into this, but it's what I strongly believe in, we were all put here to live and suceed. We may be different on the outside, but on the inside, we are all the same, bones, blood and well you know where I am goin with this. I am a SHARP and proud of it, if anyone doesn't know what a SHARP is, its a Skin Head Against Racial Predjudice. Everyone is the same and everyone should be treated the same. Point Made!
