Picture Essay thing...

What I interpreted as the message of this picture is, through all of the horrible things we went through on 9/11 as it says in the National Anthem “our flag was still there,” meaning that we are still standing strong through all we’ve been through in the past and the future. It’s common because America is “United” and as are all of the people, buildings, and symbols within this picture. It’s familiar because all of the things, people, and symbols in this picture are ones that we know and everyone knows what it all means. For example, the Eagle is a symbol that most people recognize of America and as our Nations bird, and the flag. I guess it shows all power and dominance in America. It shows Bush, firefighters, policemen; basically all the people that have power in this country can make a difference. It has the Affect of unity and strength in the picture as a message. It can influence the viewers’ feelings about America as a whole and many other aspects of the past few years. I noticed that although this is a representation of America and all the things important to us, I don't believe it covered hardly everything that is a symbol of America or a representation of America because I noticed there are no other races other than the white race. I understand that there are a lot of symbols and people that are important to us as Americans, but also "we the people" are a representation of America, and that includes all other races, not just the white people. The other message in this picture was taken from the National Anthem, which is another representation of America. We are still strong and as we did in past wars, we prevailed and will still prevail even though we've been through so much.
