heya

Hey this thing just confused me so much. Anyway, I'm Andrea I'm from the jersey shore! I'm an elementry ed./earlychildhood major. I'm looking forward to a great year at KU!

I had to read Raymond Williams, "Culture is Ordinary," many times before fully understanding what he was trying to say. I could'nt understand what his description of his bus ride or"journey" had to do with culture, and culture being ordinary. After reading it over I began to understand. When he described his journey, he was describing many changes that took place. Culture is made up of changes, based on human experiences. Humans make up society which make up culture, through the shaping of minds, experiences, relationships, discovery, skills and ideas. But why is it that "Cluture is Ordinary?" I don't fully understand what he is trying to say about Culture being ordinary, because changes occur everyday. Not a day goes by that things are the same. Everything around us is different, culture is different. What I think Raymond Williams is trying to say is that culture is ordinary because changes are ordinary. Changes are a part of everyday life, and culture is the whole way of life.
