This blog is part of Kevin Mahoney's ENG 023 College Composition courses for spring 2006. One of the key issues that is raised by our current culture is the status of on-line and collaborative writing. This blog will serve as a class journal of sorts. Here we will respond to readings, other students, and begin to form positions and arguments. We will also consider the broader "public" that will have access to what we write.

Obama's touvhed rhetor in his video by being much appreciative. He said thank you mutiple amounts of times, appealed to America and their needs, forces. The Audience weas attracted to himr, clapimg, very loud, and they were also wearing cloths pins and had bammers with his name. The text was fluent and easy to interpret and understandable.
obama has a very strong voice. he talks about how we need change. most of the speeches, the people in the back or front have signs with the candidates name on it, but in his the signs say stand for change, and there are hardly any with his name on it. i feel like a lot of people think that only black people will vote for him, but all the people in the back are white. it shows that he is supported because of his thoughts not his race.
Obama's speech was easy to understand. He spoke to the audience without looking down at all. He appealed to all Americans and did mention race. I did not like how he said "when I'm president." He spoke like he knows he will win and I didn't like that. All he talked about was change and I don't think we really need change. There were young and old people who were all white in the backround with signs that mostly said change. There were only a few that said Obama on them. The members of the audience were all clapping and cheering.
While Obama gives his speech the audience is around him in a similar fashion as with Hilary. The audience seems to range from old to young. His main goal was to emphasize that he wanted to change the way government works per say. He speaks slow and clear in a way that everyone can understand. You can tell he doesn't want to be put as being better than his audience because he uses "we" a lot and refrains from using "me", "you", and other terms of that nature unless he was talking about the people's votes. He also mentioned a lot of big issues such as education, the war, health care and equality.
Obama is very confident with his words. The camera is set up the same as Clinton's. Except, he has young and older people sitting with signs and pins on their shirts. He talks about a "new majority" that can help him change America. Talked about when he was the President, the war will end.
Obama speech is pretty easy to understand and he seems very confident! His audeince seems to range from younger to an older crowd. He speaks very slow and is easy to understand. He mentioned issues that are important and he stated what he will do about the war if he becomes president. I like Obama.
During Obama's speech he looked up basically the whole time and felt very confiedent in what he was saying. He made people know that he wanted change, and he also showed that through his signs.
"Yes We Can" the strong chant from Obama's supporters in the audience. From my perspective as a spectator to this speech I really felt that this strongly based speech made an impact to the listener through the well rehearsed presentation, his use of the inclusion of all peoples and workers, and the power of slogans like " Change is whats happening now". This all impacts the rhetor in a positive view.
